Terms of Use

What you may do with this course, and what we owe you.

Last updated September 2026

01The agreement

By using Ownership Society Academy you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We may revise these terms as the course grows; material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.

02Your account

You may create one account for your own use. Keep your sign-in credentials private, give an email address you control, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.

You are responsible for what is submitted from your account. We may suspend an account used to abuse the service, other students, or the AI feedback system.

03Course materials and licence

The slide decks, supporting plates, syllabus, question sets and written commentary are the work of Walter Barry and are protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to study them.

  • You may read, download the syllabus, print pages and quote briefly with attribution for study, teaching preparation or review.
  • You may not resell, republish, mirror, or use the materials to build a competing course, or feed them wholesale into a model for training.
  • Third-party books in the reading curriculum are the property of their authors and publishers; we link to them and never distribute copies.

04Your coursework stays yours

You keep ownership of the answers and reading notes you write. You grant us only the permission needed to store them, show them back to you, and generate feedback on them. We do not publish your coursework or show it to other students.

05AI feedback is educational, not authoritative

Feedback on your answers is generated automatically from the week's readings, slides and supporting plates. It is designed to teach, and it can be wrong or incomplete. Read the primary sources; treat feedback as a study aid, never as legal, financial, tax or investment advice.

06Certificates

A completion certificate records that you submitted answers to every question across all ten weeks. It is a record of participation in this course. It is not an accredited academic credential, degree or professional qualification.

07Acceptable use

Please use the Academy the way you would use a library.

  • No attempts to break, probe or overload the site or its database.
  • No scraping, bulk downloading, or automated submission of coursework.
  • No unlawful, harassing or infringing content in answers, notes or contact messages.

08Availability and disclaimers

The Academy is offered as it is, without warranties of any kind. Course content and features may change as the curriculum is refined. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.
